Lesson 1: Rush Revision + Overview

As a class, compile a detailed resource of your focus work, Rush - Matthew Hindson. You will each individually spend 10 minutes on a different section before moving on. Aim to build on what your peers have previous written and refer to examples in the score. Once you have completed all sections, your teacher will compile all your analyses and upload it to this blog under ''Rush' Matthew Hindson': Concepts of Music Analysis and Influences. 

The sections will be: 

  • Influences (Techno Music, Minimalism, Other Repertoire)  

  • Duration

  • Pitch 

  • Dynamics + Expressive Techniques, Tone Colour 

  • Texture, Structure 

You may choose any form to represent your analysis e.g. mindmap, collated list

Showcase your core compositions (does not have to be complete at this stage) and give a brief 1-2 minute speech explaining some of your compositional processes, inspirations etc. 

 

Provide constructive peer feedback.

In the last 30 minutes of class, you will each perform your piece (core or elective) in front of your peers. 

Your performance will be recorded and uploaded to this blog.
